I thought someone else might be able to see the logic of the person who posted this ad on craigslist. I'm curious how he thinks he can legally use a 25hp motor on a boat with no title since he couldn't get a registration and numbers for it. I also can't figure how he thinks his titleless old boat is worth $1200, but he can't find a motor to put on it that's he feels is a good "deal".
I really got a kick out of this one, maybe someone else will, too!:p

Can't say about Arkansas but here in Michigan that boat would not need a title, bill of sale would get you registered and an MC#.
Now the $1,200? Don't know about that.

Petunias do well in Arkansas, but I would grow tomatoes.

Sure would like to see the cars he bought for less than a nice, pre-loved JohnnyRude 25. :D

He put new paint on the trailer.
I wish he had put used paint on it.

If he thinks little motor cost a bunch, he'll probably pass out when he looks at big ones.

Im sure he was expecting $150 for an outboard of that size.

99% chance the whole wreck is, well a wreck going on his budget.

Well, I know in Texas, no boat title, no deal. I just learned the hard way with my first boat purchase. I didn't realize an aluminum boat needed a title. The guy had put "no title" in the ad, but I was also lead to believe that the title would be easy to get, that I could go out on the internet and get one for $30 or so. Turns out those sites are $350...and they aren't legit...according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife.

Well, the short end of my long ordeal, is that after two deceased relatives and notarized Affidavits of Heirship and lots of leg works, I have a boat and motor with a clean title and the homemade trailer passed inspection and got it's tags!

In Texas, the previous owner has 20 days to deliver a title...or it is not legal to sell. The Game Warden Supervisor wanted me to go back to the previous owner and threaten a fine from him if I didn't get my money back. I told the GW I would find the deceased owners heirs!
