Engine runs cool

I have a 5.0L Volvo in a Reinell. I never see the temp gauge move from the low end is this normal ?
Does the marine engine not have a T-stat like a typicall auto application?

it has a t stat just like a car 140 if im not wrong check your guage or put mechancial guage on it be safe

Check to be sure that it even has a stat in it. Sometimes people pull them out to cover other ills.

Then get yourself one of these. It'll be one of the handiest things in your toolbox.

The previous owner may have removed the old t-stat or it is stuck wide open. You will want it to warm up though because it WILL run better.

Thanks, upon further inspection the temp sender had some corrosion at the connection. Just snipped it off and crimped on a new connector.
