Stainless Steel is okay but should still be sealed.

i'm bolting a whole new piece of aluminum to the back of my boat it's corrodid bad...i was going so use rivits but i can't get at the rivits to buck them..there will be tons of bolts about 30 down each side and the bottom ..i hav to use bolts..i seen a thread on here exactly the same idea but i can't seem to find it again:redface:i'm going to use 3m 4000 between the 2 pieces of aluminum to seal them then ill tex the inside(theres tons of holes)then gluevit everything..then primer then paint..i'm really worried that if i use ssteel bolts they will corrode the aluminum..i can't seem to find any aluminum bolts in alberta...or do they even make them?

USE 3m 5200 between the sheets...... much stronger than the 4200.

You can use closed end pop rivets (aluminum ones) to secure everything.

well ssteel bolts it is....should i paint them first would that help with corosion?i tryed close end pop-rivets but they didnt pull the pieces together like bolts do...imgonna 5200 them first..but is paint then 5200 better..any thoughts

will it corrode fast....i will only have the boat about 5 years or so i plani'll put ten coats of paint on the back if i have to?or does corroding have nothing to do with water

i just wanted to say thanks for all the help i got from this site....as for the boat...awesome...i'll post some finished pic soon.the best thing about her,she helped me surpass my goal of 10lbs rainbow trout by 8.5lbs...18.5 lbs she's allready building memorys
