1993 15hp Johnson - Adjusting fuel/oil ratio for trolling use only?

I have a 1993 15hp Johnson on my boat that is used for slow lake trolling only. If I need to get anywhere fast I just use the larger main motor.

I was just curious if it would do me any good to adjust the fuel/oil ratio to allow it to run a little better or have less build up only running at these slow speeds?

Maybe adjusting the air/fuel ratio with the carb would also be helpful?

Any thoughts on either of these?

Thanks!

I think this is a must read for a 9.9 or 15 owner. Mr. Wiesner carries two tanks. One mixed 50/1 for high speed boating and one mixed 100/1 strictly for trolling and says he has had no problems in doing so. I haven't the nerve to try it but mine doesn't really foul up. One thing I always do though is at the end of a troll I gather up all the rods and such and then give it a good five minute run at full throttle just to clean the plugs and exhaust. Rick.
