Here is what happened:
Wed. 5:00PM MST, installing new server and doing the updates.
Somewhere in the process, things go bad and iboats looses internet service completely. Parts broke. People scrambaling to get it fixed. No way. Need parts NOW. Not going to happen. New parts ordered, but not due till Friday, then it has to be installed, then updated, adjusted and who knows what else, then with any luck Friday or Saturday or ............... we will see the new system.
Hang in there guys, it's being worked on by the best, and trust me, they are about as happy about this situation as anyone else reading this.

Thanks for the "behind the scene no BS explanation".

iboats has alot of $ tied up into this upgrade I am sure and I have never heard of a "server resto" go 100% smoothly, things do NOT go according to plan usually.

IF, and I do stress "IF" this was a paid subscription site, well then all the whining and bit***n about it being slow is justifiable, I personally get tired of 20 posts a day saying how slow the server is...

I guess it's just so pleasurable to check in on our web-buddies boats and projects that people lose sight of what it takes to maintain a site.

Well CBK, This is uncalled for, maybe we're all not as well informed as you after all, this is probably one of the biggest, busiest forums on the net, and a lot of people are confused, & frustrated, not knowing if it's a problem with their computer or net service, especially any newbies.

I admit it, I wrote a virus which causes only my threads to load quickly, but due to a typo it has a side affect of removing your liver for Steve Jobs' transplant.

I want to thank all those involved in the repair / upgrade that is going on with this website. I am new here yet this place has saved me money, embarrassment, time, and anxiety. It has also provided good tips and 2700 lbs of laughs. This place has done all this for me for free. I am very appreciative, thank you.

No complaints here. Figured that lots of others like me have determined this is one of the best boating forums in the universe, so one should expect these things to happen once in a while. This user is very appreciative for the efforts of the few who keep it going.
