Fuel Oil Mix

this is my first boat, a 1972 starcraft with a 40 hp. johnson and a 3.3 hp. mercury kicker. what is the proper fuel oil mix for both.(the mercury is fairly new
2003 or newer)

What year is the johnson? It makes a difference. I don't know about Mercury.

My '74 85 HP Johny is 50:1
thats probably the same. i would check a manual first tho just to be safe. but its 50:1

Q - What is the fuel/oil mix for my motor?
A - The following is generally true: 1958 and prior used 20:1, 1959 thru 1963 used 24:1, 1964 and newer use 50:1. High performance usage (racing) requires a ratio of 25:1. New engine break-in (not DI) requires 25:1.
