I have a 87 Rude 140, the timer base doesn't move to freely and was wondering what type of spray lube I should use?

Re: Spray Lubricant

I wouldn't spray anything up in there. For one it would make a mess. Spray lubricants don't last very long and could damage hundreds of dollars worth of ignition components with repeated applications.
Best bet is to pull the flywheel so you can inspect the part for wear, clean it up, and reinstall using a minimal amount of real, thick, white lithium grease.

Thanks Skeetr. Didn't think just spraying would be good for the same reasons you stated. Now, I have gear pullers but I guess there is a special tool used to pull flywheel?

All the white lithium is in spray form.

I see where it is sold in solid form.

A harmonic balancer puller will work. Most auto parts stores have them for around 20 bucks. The trick is to find the correct hardened bolts for your flywheel because the kits are pretty generic. Should be able to pick up the grease there as well. Usually comes in smaller tubes.
