Hi everyone, I'm rebuilding a 1972 Mercury Thunderbult 800 powerhead, need to replace a piston on #3 cyl. There is slight scoring on cyl. wall. Putting it back together now. Should I use a gasket sealer on any of the gaskets, and if yes, what type of sealer is recommended. Thanks Bob

The crankcase gasket is a cork or rubber seal. I use some grease under and over it. The rest of the rubber oring seals get grease. Paper gaskets go on dry.
