I have a 2000 F40 Yamaha .....maybe 225 hrs.....on a 16 ft aluminum side console.......boat alone is maybe 550lbs....the prop is 10 5/8 x 12.....Engine will go over 6300 if I let it...I keep it below 5500.........wot spec range is 5000-6000
So if I went with 10 1/4 x 14...would this drop my rpm 400...... to wot approx 5500-5600.....
I guess best way would be trial and error.......thanks Phil

Fixer, you said it will turn over 6,300 RPM so I used 6,400 RPM as my base RPM and I ran some numbers based on this. You can expect a change of about 750 RPM by changing from the 12" pitch prop to a 14" pitch. Here are the numbers.

Sorry, here is the right RPM change, and you should see an RPM change of about 700 RPM.
