1998 Johnson 175 Ficht

New problem with my Johnson 175 Ficht, she runs fine at high speed and at trolling speed but anything in between I get intermittent hesitation. When it happens it sounds likes it choking or bogging down, I either speed her up or throttle her down to get her running even again. Before you chastise me for owning a ficht search my screen name for other posts, I have heard it all good and bad. Anyway I would like to get a few more seasons out of her if possible so please respond with your thoughts and advice. Thanks

you might consider getting the software and cable to scan your own codes, it can be found on ebay usually.

Do I need a computer running DOS to operate this software?

I would check with BRP customer service for the computer requirements to be sure. I have Etecs and mine can use Palm PDA interface, although I don't think BRP is still offering that.

OK, I ordered the software. Now I just need to find a lap top with a serial port or buy a serial to usb adapter. Any recommendations?
