I've had this boat of a few years and don't know who made it.. Was hoping someone could identify it for me.. The older title I have says its circa 1956, and the ser# prefix is SKVC, but doesnt list the manufacture.. Help??
Thanks

Re: What is it??

Looks like a steel or aluminum hull in the pics to me. Looks like a great little resto project if it is! Looks like it could handle some pretty rough water too.

Re: What is it??

Its all aluminum, 19ft. The windshield on top is from a tri hull walk thru I guessing. I was told by the guy I bought it from, that he found it sitting in the Mud Island harbor in memphis. So it was used on the mississippi river.. The boat has a 72' 50hp johnson on it and sits very low in the water. I would be afraid to take it in anything too rough..Thinking the motor may be too heavy for it. But on a nice lake, she hauls. I was really hoping someone would know who made this boat, I really would like to know the specs and such on this old boat..
Thanks for any and all help..

Huh, I suppose if the top part is an add-on that someone did, it would add a lot of weight to the boat that it really wasn't designed to carry. Thus sitting very low in the water. I wonder if it would get hung up in the shallows then, and got abandoned as a poorly thought out project...

Re: What is it??

If the top is an add on, its very well done. Plus they would have had to do from the top of the hull up.. I looked again at the title I have.. Its listed as a 1956 SportsCraft.. I can't find anything on SportsCraft.. Left for dead?? I doubt it.. The pic is a little deceptive, its not a deep boat.. If I pull the motor up, I can troll it up in pretty shallow water... I know from looking at the title that its been sold at least four times.. I emailed the dealer that sold it last, maybe they can help....

I believe I have ID'ed my boat. Ran across a few posts on a site.. I believe it to be a SportsKraft. Which would account for the "SK" in the ser# SKVC, and maybe the "C" is cabin? I still have no idea who built it, but its something..

News Flash!! Yes, Its a vintage "Sports-Kraft Versatile Cruiser-ette" Made by the General Boat Corporation of Grand Prairie Texas.. Although I can't find ANY info on the company that made it, at least I know what it is...

Re: What is it??

Well I had a little help from soneone on another site.. I posted pics on a few sites cause I knew it might be a hard one.. But I would like to thank those of you that did take the time to respond to my question.. Good to know there are people that will extend a helping a hand:)
P.S. I have another boat that I will be asking about soon. It is all aluminum, and has fins. This will be the tough one.
Thank you.

Glad you figured it out! Something about that boat really grabs me. I like it alot! That would be a very good candidate for an overhaul and would probably look great when done.
