Hello i just bourght a boat in Germany, and there was a trailer with, but there was no papers,i think the trailer is from USA.

I dont know if the trailer has been registret in USA or it is exportet direct to Germany, but it has never been registret in Germany.

It is form Escort Trailer Coroporation, the name is "Fulton" and model WT 21 GBB.

I have all data on trailer VIN. and so on.

I need the papers, to get the trailer registeret in Denmark, where i live.

Hope some one can help me.

Best regards

It varies state to state, in Ohio you take the trailer to a weigh station and record the weight, you then find the serial number on the trailer, if you can't find it make one up, thats all you need, chech with your local regeritation bereau. Sounds like you have everything but the weight good luck and feeterzane.

In my contry when you buy a new trailer you get registrations papers from the Authorities wiht all data your name, number plade no., serial no., weight on trailer, and load weight model and so.

The papers follows the trailer, and if you sell the trailer, they make new papers, wiht the new owners name on it.

In Denmark you can get the papers from the right Authorities, if you loose these papers.

I dont know if it is the same in US.

If i dont have papers on the trailer, i cant get Danish number plades to the trailer, and then i cant drive on puplic roads.

If it from the US it might be hard to find the papers. Some states don't even require you to register the trailer, just pay taxes on it. And in a lot of cases if one can't find the papers they register it as a homemade trailer. Even with the VIN number I am not for sure you could locate the state that trailer came from. Do you have any laws on registering a homemade trailer?

You cant make a homemade trailer in Denmark  it has to drive on the roads so therefore you can not make them youself.

Okay thanks a lot for the answers.

Morten,

What year was the trailer made ( manufactured or built ) ?

There may be a couple of options if it's an older trailer.
