1997 Johnson 115 No Spark

I was getting random spark from the engine. It would sometimes fire right up then the boat sat and now it wont start at all. Its getting fuel, new fuel filter, has new battery but random spark.

I started with the basics, changed the plugs. Then I went with a new Power Pack, nothing. Then new stator, nothing. I checked the ignition switch and its good. Any ideas?????

are you getting a random spark on on all cylinders or just on one?

You might pick up a OEM Service manual for that motor. It has step by step troubleshooting procedures.

On all of them, after I replaced all of the parts it cranked up but only ran for maybe 10 seconds then killed and would not start again.

Any Ideas? The motor is on a party barge and is just used to putt-putt around on. Rarely do we even put the boat on plane.
