I am putting my boat in this Friday-Monday and was wondering will my hull be OK with no paint. I read somewhere if you keep it in the water more than a few days it can foul your bottom.

This is in the Upper Chesapeake BTW

You'll be fine. Nothing to worry about.

This is what I have heard as well. For just a couple of days and the fact that you will be using it, you should be ok. However, I would take it somewhere to wash it as soon as you pull it out. The soon you can wash it the easier it will be!

Your hull and your bottom will be ok, just a quick wash for both when you get back home...

Cheers!!! ;)

Thanks guys, I will be putting a TON of hours on it this weekend, and next week as well.

This is also giving me the added benefit of allowing me to replace my bunks on my trailer

powerwash at the car wash on the way home.

You can go for a week or two with no hard attachments (barnacles) maybe more up there.

Looking at your picture in your posts, what do you mean by "no paint". Is this a fiberglass hull with the gel coat sanded off. If so I would recommend not putting the boat in as the fiberglass will absorb moisture making the refinishing job a far harder task.

He means anti-fouling bottom paint. So no need to worry about the fiberglass soaking up the water. ;)

Bare glass would have no problems being immersed for this period of time.

To clarify, it's gelcoat. It has never had anti-fouling or any other bottom paint.
