Motor 1979 140 chrysler. I have unburnt fuel dripping out of my exhaust snout..and the motor runs quite rich. my floats are adjusted slightly leaner than parallel to the carb body. How can I fix this?

I'll bet you a box of doughnuts that the fuel pump diaphram has a hole or is torn.

they're brand new actually... One pump was leaking so I replaced the diapharagm and gasket a second time.

I had a brand new one fail on me. Turned out to be the bolt holes in the diaphram were too small and when I assembled the pump, the diaphram tore. Just a thought. I'll still make good on the box of doughnuts...:D

Try doing a decarb on the motor. Not sure when it was incorporated but if it has a fuel recirculation system check that to see if it is working properly.
