Im new to the boating world, and traded a motorcycle for a 1979 Silverline with a 351 V8. It has an 800 OMC, When I got the boat the only thing wrong they knew about was the tilt motor, and I ended up replacing the Tilt motor, and had to rebuild the tilt clutch, from directions from this forum. Thank You......Anyways I digress. Now, I try to load the boat into a lake, The motor runs and starts up great. But No propulsion. The prop will not spin.
When the boat is out of the Water, with the Engine off, and the keys in my pocket. I can spin the prop by hand, freely in both directions. With the Stern Drive all the way up, When I spin the prop the cog gear the connects with the gear inside, it doesnt spin when the prop spins. And out of one of the holes in the bottom of the unit, a little bit of oil seeps out.
Any suggestions?
