Here are some pictures of my renovated 1966 Starcraft Nassau:
It had sat in a barn for 25 years and was unmolested - no holes in it for various add-ons. I gutted it; put a new floor in, new seats, new paint - looks brand new ? probably better than brand new! The Merc 80 is a little overkill ? but like power tools more is better. Here is the tale of the tape:
Boat - $900
Sold 1960 Evinrude Lark 40 ? ($200)
Seats - $350
New Merc $900
Trailer Rework - $150
Decko Dot Flooring $100
Interior Stuff - $40
Paint - $100
I would comment on this: I would avoid the Decko Dot flooring simply because every piece of dirt shows. The polyurethane paint looks professional after you buff it out ? I think this is true with any paint. I wish I had kept the old seats and had them redone instead of new ones (although the new Wise seats have storage). I would suggest for those starting a new boat ? the primary thing I had going for me was everything was there ? all the little handles, screws, attachments, doors etc. When I do another ? I would make sure that you buy a boat with all the do-dads still attached. Lots of fun ? goes like stink. Love looking at everyone?s projects ? although I probably will never have the courage for a big glass project ? and no never wood!.
