where does one go to find a project boat? I'm looking for about an 18-22ft cruiser that needs a new inboard motor. any ideas aside from craigslist are appreciated.

thanks,
Jed

I just keep my eyes open while driving around and if i see something of interest i stop and knock on the door. Found my Bass boat that way and only cost me 100 bucks.

might help if you posted your location in your profile.

Around here the question is how do I avoid a project boat, they're free and abundant, some with free trailers.

and they're all on craigslist.

Also call some local boat dealers. They may have some older trade-ins just sitting around.

Here in central Missouri, we have a dealer that must have an acre of project boats, all under shed roofs. Some of these go back to the early 60's. Ya might have something similar in your area.
