150 Yamaha 4 Stroke trim indicator

The trim gauge on this engine shows the full up position. The trim switch on the engine is free to move up and down, the gauge dose not move. this is a 2004 engine with only 250 hours. any idea what may be the trouble??

there is a plastic collar with a tab on it that has philips screw it is either loose or the plastic collar has broke they cost about 4 dollars it's located on the main pivot shaft and makes up a switch.this happened to mine about a year ago it had a crack in it around the screw and had gotten loose.hope this helps

nost lily the broken plastic trim sender cam.
make sure you replace it with the newer cam thats stainless steel and the part number ends with a KT.
