I am installing a tow bar and wire harness for a trailer on a 2002 Chevy Astro van. The unfinished wiring harness is in the jack storage compartment of the van. It looks like I have to route the wires from the jack storage compartment through the floor. Whats the best way to drill the hole and run the wire harness through the floor? Is there a grommet for that application?

Thanks for the help.

Re: Drilling hole in floor of vehicle

Ho down to napa and get a plastic body plug and drill a hole to match..... then slice the plug so your wires will go thru it. Seal it off with dum dum the plumbers putty.

When you do drill the hole use touch up paint on the exposed metal.

Now that I typed all that...... go to napa or walmart and but the plug and play harness. It is a T harness that you plug into your existing harness under the van . No muss no fuss. They make them for most vehicles and you only have to secure a ground wire after you plug it in ;)

here is one to better explain

And my folks live in Auburndale, but they are currently in California on their way to Alaska with their truck/slide in camper/enclosed trailer/trike combination.

I like the plug and play idea the best. But exactly what Bob said about drilling the hole... that's the right way to do it.
