Hi all...
Well i'm here along with many others that had problems this 4th on the water...
I havent looked into the exact problem yet, but on my way in from the ocean about 4miles out i was on plane when my motor suddenly bogged down but not enough to get me off plane. I usually go about 33mph while planing but after the incident, it would only go 29mph. It was unusual but i refused to let off plane and possibly ruin my return into the marina. At about a mile left to get to the marina, I let off plane cause a huge boat was crossing my path... I cruised past him and over his monsterous wake... I then went ahead and punched it again and the engine would not give it it's all to plane... kinda like if I had taken water and was just too heavy. I kept at it and asked my wife to move to the front and about a minute later I got to plane again the rest of the way... The worst part is that i do not have a functioning tach:mad: Any input? I can only think... maybe I lost a cylinder? Spark Plug? Lost compression? Lost a carb? Any one got diagnosing tips???

Sounds like you dropped a cylinder for wahtever reason. Start with a compression test, then do a spark test. Compare the spark plugs and let us know what they look like.
