Good afternoon all,

I had a great weekend fishing for Pike and Walleye with my old johnny FD-10 :D but unfortunately I hit something submerged in the water and broke a blade off of my prop . Does anyone here know of a good place to get a prop and what exactly was the diameter and pitch of the original.

Thanks,

Basher

The diameter and pitch are usually stamped on the hub in letters around 1/8" tall. Look for something that looks like 9x11 or 9x10 or 9x9. Michigan wheel makes replacement props for the pin drive units in several sizes. Rick

For your 15 HP, you can select a prop from any of the pin drive gearcase's, 15, 18, 20, 25. I don't know the original, propably 9x9, 9x10. Check your prop for a part, or size number. Any dealer should have, or get you a prop.

Re: Prop for a FD-10

OK so I just pulled the remains of the old prop off the shaft and there are two things stamped on the hub. Directly across the hub from each other there is stamped 15 and then on the other side is S. Any idea what these mean?

I am definitely in need of a new one and would like similar characteristics. I have my 56' FD-10 mounted on a 12' Aluminum. I only use it for fishing, mostly with myself and my son but sometimes the wife comes along as well. As you can well imagine this motor has no problem getting me out to my favorite fishing hole in no time and I am not sure if it is a 9x10 or 9x11.

Oh and by the way the drive pin was not even bent. lmao

Hi Basher, the 1956 Johnson brochure over at old-omc.de shows the original prop was 9 x 11.

Cheers.................Todd

Todd and Rick thanks for the answers. I just rebuilt this motor last year and I am trying to keep it as near to original as possible.

There's always half a dozen or so available on Schmebay at any given time.
