Purchasing a boat this weekend. Is $13,995 a good deal for a new 2008 Maxum 1800 MX, with trailer, bimony top, bow & rear covers, snap in carpet and 135HP mercruiser? I know nothing about boats.

Price sounds good. However why go new for your first boat? Get a used one to cut your teeth on. You'd mind much less banging a used one off the dock a few times then a new one. Plus you really don't know what you want in a boat until you've used one for a season or two. With a used boat you won't take as much of a hit when you inevitably trade for something different.
That sounds like a great price. What is the "Out the door" price(including tax, registration fees etc..)?

I looked at used boats but the price difference b/w a New one or a 2000 or later model was only a few grand. The price difference doesn't seem to be worth the fact that the used boat has no warranty and I don't know how well the prior owners kept it. Also the older boats I looked at had interiors that were wrecked. Plus the price just seemed perfect.
$14,914. That includes
