Motor Swap??

So I have an 89' 2.3L OMC with a cracked exhaust manifold. I am looking for possible solutions ( I am aware of the parts availibility issues).
I am now wondering about an engine swap to a OMC 3.0L and I have not been able to determine if the OMC outdrives are the same. I have been able to determine the exhaust is on the oppisite side.
I am looking for schematics on the setups for comparrison or other options.

Anyone have any ideas.... other than just putting a 9.9hp kicker on and trolling for ever.

bout the easiest, and most cost effective, as i am doing this same thing myself, is find a donor boat with a good motor/outdrive, and swap. if you get the entire setup at once, order necessary gaskets/impellers/ misc. parts, the swap really isn't all that hard. hardest part might be the motor mounts, glassing new ones in if needed. mercruiser will bolt thru the omc cobra transom.

Thanks for the info. I have some leeds on parts to fix what I have but I have been unable to find a source for the gaskets or for that matter any other part for this 2.3L.

OK answered my own question and found the parts, I just had to learn to ask the right questions.
I found them all on marineengine.com (much cheaper)
And some on go2marine.com not all of them though (more expensive).

Now I am debating on the exhaust manifold from Hi-Tek......
