'01 Merc 4.3/Alpha 1 wooing noise

'01 Caravelle 188, 4.3GL, Alpha 1 noticed today at certain speeds usually around 20mph cruising around there was a wooooing noise coming from the rear. For lack of a better term woooo is the best I can do. There was no mistaking it. Is was not loud but obvious. If I crossed a wake and the boat bounced a few times the woo would change tone with the bouncing. Goes away with throttle or if I come to idle. Thanks again to everyone here as this is my first I/O.

Could this be a bearing or other drive related noise indicating wear? First I/O so maybe they're just noisey? Thanks!

I used to have a girl friend that made that noise, but thats a whole other story...

New to the boat so I have not cleaned the flame arrestor. Can you recommend a solvent for that? And that's a BIG 10-4 on the GF!
