1984 Force 85 hp Motor #3 cylnder not firing all cd boxes and coils functioning

1984 85 HP Force motor, #3 cylinder not firing already replaced stator, tested all wires no breaks, all coils are functioning and still cannot figure out why #3 cylinder not working. Could the trigger be bad or does anyone have any other suggestions on what may be causing this.

With one cylinder not firing, it could be a trigger but is more likely to be a CD box. Switch the quick connects and thus switch boxes. If the non firing plug now fires and another does not, then the box is bad.

Make sure that you have good grounds and that your connectors for the CDI, stator and trigger are clean and tight. I secure mine with tie wraps because as they get old the plastic shrinks and the connections loosen up.
