Anything thats easy and works well. I dunno about you but my boat gets dirty after a weekend on the lake. Seems like my buddys get more food on my floor then in there mouths and when the ladys have there mixed drinks and we start moving for get about it( recently invested in sippie cups for the girlies)

Power washer. But I don't have carpet, and I have removable cushions which I seldom use, for this reason: preservation and ease of cleaning. I use my boats fishing, hunting and hauling stuff, and after a few days of hard marsh hunting the white boat is about black.
I often go to the car wash if the boat's on a trailer.
I also have access to a dock with a hose just to rinse off salt, bait, etc. after a routine trip and if I'm staying in the water.
I really prefer the practicality of a fiberglass interior, both for ease of cleaning, but also for maintaining a clean look. My 20 year old deck still looks pretty good despite hard use and uncovered storage/mooring in high-salt conditions; I don't know much upholstery and carpet that would. So does my 45 year old Whaler, but it was garage-kept for about 30 years.
I understand the trade-off's for such things as interiors and design, and to each his own, but I know that many people new to boating would under estimate the time and care it takes to preserve a nice interior. I recommend people consider starting with a smooth interior in their first boat.

Usually the glass and waterspots on the hull is my least favorite thing to wash

I know what you mean about food and drink, when I invite friends along they always bring the Mcdonadls junk along with their kids and it always ends up in the bilge always. Even the grownups especially the women spill their drinks within the first few minutes underway and Mcdonalds iced tea is some super sticky stuff, but what can you do it comes with the terrirory. I usually tidy up and vacuum before the trip, too tired afterwards.

i clean mine throughout the day. if the seats get splashed....i don't care but i'll wipe them down a few times. same with any trash, gets put in the right spot. great time to wipe down the gunnels, transom, windshield, grab rails...

before we leave the prep area at the end of the day, the hull gets wiped.

i vacuum periodically with my home vacuum...dogs

mine gets pretty dirty too.

i usually vacuum my old, non replaceable color, worn oem carpet and windex up the sticky spots on the inside of the hull. wash the exterior once a week (usually), then shammy dry. for the water spots. get some ducky brand water spot remover to go with the shammy. you'll be amazed. most spots are removed easy. heavy ones, maybe 2 apps if ya want to go that far, which i usually don't.

windex the plexiglas. most weeks outside only, sometimes in and out.

get a new garbage bag for the trash can.

i've been sleeping overnight the last few weekends onboard. night boating. a new thing to clean for me is bugs. one kind especially. though i have no idea what kind it is. but it dies and falls on my none skid deck. then somehow it melts into a puddle of green sticky slime. ya can't even tell it was a bug. best thing i've found to clean them is to get them the next morning with plain water out of a bucket splashed over the deck a few times. if i let them dry totally. a scrub brush barely attacks them when washing. but does remove them with to much effort..

i do this usually during the course of the following week. prior to going out again is the goal....

I use all of my detailing stuff for the cars interior as I do for the boat. Yes I have and sometimes use simple green I get it in a gallon jug and dilute about 50\50 water and simple green. It works just fine on my boat but I clean my boat like I clean my body every time I use it, it gets cleaned. lol. I use rain-x on the outside of my windshield and a good glass cleaner on the inside. Bowrider. About 2 times a season I shampoo my carpet comes out fair not to dirty to start with. I vacuum the boat every time I come home from using it that way the next trip no worries its clean. Well I must say after reading this I have decided I am done online and I am going to hook up the truck to the boat and have a good Friday night. I'm outta here lol...

Since we have two young boys things can get messy. Boating seems to revolve around eating for them. We try not to get stuff too messy by instilling boat rules as I had growing up or bring red beverages onboard. I will ask that they eat the messy stuff like chocolate on the lounge pad. All that said I keep the sand and junk on the deck to a minimum with a small hand held broom and dust pan I keep in the ski storage for our week long trips. We used our snap out carpet one time and never again. My favorite thing to clean with is a chamois cloth on the interior and the air compressor works well too. I detail every square inch of the boat and even polish the inside of the piano hinge that holds up the ski pad along with all the other SS. I am really crazy about keeping our things nice.

Chocolate is not allowed on my boat. Also, there is absolutely no fun to be had either. Boating is srs bzns.

Haha... our boating rules have really become boating suggestions hence all the post cleaning. Our 'no chocolate' rule was the most recent to go away. I am trying to hold strong on the 'no red gatoraid'.

'No red gatoraid' is really more of a life lesson. One of my boys was sick once, and without thinking we bought him a red gatorade to help rehydrate him. Later that night he didn't get out of bed quick enough, and he vomitted. Staining the white-ish carpet pink. We showed the house with a hot-wheels set on top of the stain and eventually sold it. They didn't complain at their final walk through - we heard after the wife was one of these people that planned on eliminating all the carpet anyway...

LOL the no red fluid rule is mine too. The girls love mixing there drinks with all that fruit juice and it gets every where . So i bought sippies and if you dont want to use them you dont drink mixed drink on my boat. I would do it with beer to but that would to too nasty. That reminds me tonight is cleaning night before the weekend......... I was thinking about calling everyone that comes out on the boat tonight and ask them if they want to help.. If not there gunna be limited to lake water and bird ****...hahaha jk

Folks in my boat clean up after themselves, else they get the "eye" from me and some verbal encouragement. I also throw water across the deck when needed throughout a fishing trip. Besides, fish leave slime on the deck.

Each night when fishing away from home a series of days at our jointly-owned houseboat, I pick up debris that still lingers.

Usually it's my wife and me only. Hence, we are neat freaks by our relatives' standards.

Oh, I use StarBrite deck cleaner and hull cleaner. The hull cleaner literally melts the tannin stains of in two rounds of wiping. For tough-gripping stains, I use Bar Keepers Friend. My neighbor has been using BKF for 10 years on his boat and it shines like the first day off the showroom floor.

My neighbor is a Stingray factory rep and told me to use vinegar (from the grocery store). Load into a spray bottle, spray it on and wipe it off. Easier then Windex and gets the hard water spots. :)

i use vinegar and water in spray bottle for the water spots. everyone that gets on knows that there are no colored drinks allowed. this includes fruity girl drinks and juices for the kids. trashcan is pointed out before anyone opens a beer. no sticky foods. had a friend and his wife on the boat for the first time earlier this year and 15 min after we left the dock she pulled out cinnamon rolls. they went right back in the cooler.

straight vinegar on the fiberglass/windows. works wonders. Whatever else i have for the vinyl...simple green, windex, pledge, you name it I'll give it a shot lol. foam aerosol glass cleaner seems to be working good on the vinyl lately.
