1963 16' Starcraft Starmist - family boat since 1963. 3rd motor, started with 45hp west bend, then a worthless 60hp chrysler (sorry chrysler owners), and currently a 1990 or so 70hp yamaha. This little boat moves (as long as you get the water out of it), she leaks some.

nice!
If ya ever decide to tear up the deck...put some Gluvit on the hull and seal her back up...VERY cool to be in the family that long..

I'm going to start a restoration thread soon, but I had to post this image right away, I think it looks cool. No, it's not photoshopped....

I think you were talking to me so I will answer! I am the 3rd owner. My dad being the 2nd. I have had it since Aug 2007. My dad got it from the original owner in 1990. Just a couple pics to show the before.

Here is a pic of my 22' SS winter project. It will be a total strip down and rebuild - including the motor. I am going to replace the 470 with an inline 6. Hopefully it will look like new and be ready for the water in May.

I'm seeing more and more 22' Supersports on the web site...I like the look of
them and starting to wonder if I should have found a 22' SS instead of a 16' SS...Looks like a great boat here...keep the pics coming......:D

Re: Post a pic of your starcraft!

to all,

looks like i've found the motherlode of Starcraft experts.

so a few questions, as i bought a 16' Starcraft of the early 60s with original Dilly trailer & an old, but good-running, longshaft 35HP Mercury OB for 250.oo last Sunday:

1. where is the manufacturers data plate & hull serial number for these boats? (or where SHOULD it be, if mine is missing?)

2. i'm told by the former owner that it is either a Jupiter or a Viscount. how are they different?

3. absent anything on the registration forms, how do i figure out WHICH year/model Starcraft that i've bought?
(the previous owner thinks that the boat is either a '62 or '63.)

4. is there any firms that sell replica/replacement trim parts for the hulll?

thanks, PG

Re: Post a pic of your starcraft!

I had a Jupiter (link in my signature below). Never heard of a Viscount. My data plate was on the transom. My serial number had a 66 in it which I assumed to mean the boat was a '66 but I have since found that is not necessarily the case (although I believe in my case it was). Your missing pieces will have to come used.

Prestige...welcome to iboats...the online home of all that is starcraft:)

Congrats on the boat:cool:

I would suggest starting a new thread where you can post pictures and ask questions specific to your boat. There are links to brochures in this thread that may help you track down the model.

Heres my 71 Starcraft Super Sport. Blank canvas on the inside, thinking center console with v seating front.
Boat and Trailer $300.00. Already have the floor out and inside cleaned. Gluvit next.

Looking forward to a Customized Starcraft.:D

Re: Post a pic of your starcraft!

Mine is also on the portside of the boat near the dash next to the cpontrols . I understand from Bob though that people liked to mount the controls over it so if you cant find it try removing the controls to see if its under them . My Jupiter is a 1970 Like Andy's
