Hi there everyone. I am newly registered on this board although I have been lurking about for the last month or so. I have found a great deal of helpful information and I am grateful for it. I aplogise if the information I am seeking has been previously posted. I read down the list of FAQ's and I attempted a couple of searches but I did not find the information I was seeking.
I have had a 1972 Cruisers Inc. cuddy cabin with an Evinrude 125283R sitting in my driveway for nearly 3 years. I have finally gotten off of my duff and begun working on it. I am doing things along a priority list to decide how much effort I am putting into this boat. A couple of weeks ago I started the motor and although it ran well it wasn't circulating water. First step was to rebuild the water pump. I completed that task today but the rain kept me from installing the gear case to the motor.
Prior to the lower end removal I was testing the tilt unit and it will quite handily lift the motor but it will quickly drop. It is a tilt only unit and according to my new favorite boat shop it was manufactured by Calco. Information seems to be pretty scarce. The parts guy was able to print a parts breakdown but he can't print a parts list. He said the application he was using is called smartpart. I have searched to see if they have a web site but wasn't able to find it.
The best direction I can give is that the pump is mounted on he starboard side and the unit uses two cylinders mounted 180 degrees from each other. So to clarify, if I need to, the piston on one moves up and the other moves down.
Does anyone know of where I can get ahold of a digital copy of the manual for the tilt unit including a parts list? Just a parts list and diagram would be equally helpful.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Adam
