Have a storage compartment in the bow of the boat (16ft deep V closed bow) that is separated from the passenger area by a bulkhead. The bulkhead has an opening in the middle about 24" wide x 24" high.

I want to be able to use that space for "secure" storage so I built a hinged door (overlaps each side by 2") to cover the opening. The door is hinged at the bottom and folds down flat on the floor allowing easy access into the storage area.

Now for the problem. I want to be able to secure/latch the door in the UP (closed) position and be able to lock it when I need to. Normally the door will be left unlocked (easy quick access when needed) and will be locked when docked overnight etc. I can't find anything that effectively clamps the door tight to the bulkhead (don't want it rattling while underway). Locking it can be a separate device.

Anyone have a good solution? I have exhausted all of my ideas.

Yes, that would work very well. Its a little more than I would like to spend though. I would need two of them, one on each side so $70 (actually more than $100 CDN by the time I get it here) is way too much.

I'm looking for something on the cheap ;).
