I had the Imperial up to the lake today and ran into some problems. First off, like a dip**** I forgot to pump the bulb when checking the motor on muffs, and ran it out of gas. Once I got it all primed again, all was well, or so I thought. Once at the lake, I had issues starting, and once I did, and we took off across the lake, we got about 2 minutes out of the motor and it died on us. Took forever to re-prime everything and get started up again. How hard is it to get all of the air out of the system once it is introduced. With the electric primer solenoid there are a lot of tiny lines that can hold air. What would cause it to lose power and die out at full throttle? I have consulted the manual, and it was less than helpful at troubleshooting procedures.
A little side info though
Plugs are brand new champions
Pee hole line was cracked, introducing some water into housing (possible short outs?)
Amateur wiring done on some of the coils (insulation breakdown causing bare spots)
All defects that I have seen have been repaired, but I want to try and avoid ANOTHER wasted trip to the lake to test.
