I am in need of some info about mercruiser 5.7l.....

[I got a 1983 webcraft enterprise with no engine or lower unit.
What do I have to change from a non-marine engine to make it marine. I allready know freeze plugs should be brass, and ill have to get marine water pump and maniflods. But what else? Rod and main bearings? Im not looking foward to spendig 1500 on a marine engine. Just seein if I go the cheaper way.
ANY INFO WOULD HELP GREATLY!!!

just some stainless headgaskets, all the bearings are the same, but marine electrics are a must, i.e starter, alternator etc.....
