this happened in april and i am far over it by now...even laugh about it when no ones looking, but i just joined this forum and have to tell you guys about this.

little history...got the 78 Imp in oct08. had the hull and floor in by feb09. finished the motor and was ready for a test run in apr09. in the pics i know everything is brown and the finished product is red. thats another whole story...to put it short...was gonna be a fishin boat (brown)...my wife got involved and turned it into a sunday boat (red).

so...this is my first boat...i didnt wont to go at the launch alone. i went to pic up my father-in-law / fishin buddy. when i got to his home he wasn't there. i was on the phone fightin with the wife and decided that it would be easier to just drive around the yard vs. trying to back up and turn around with one hand on the wheel, one on the phone, and my mind trying to figure out what it is she wants...lol.

BAD IDEA!!! we had just gotten a month of rain and the back yard was a hidden quagmire!!! needless to stay i got stuck...with the boat! i went into "get unstuck" mode and forgot about the boat...MISTAKE!!!

8 hours...2 trucks...and finally the neighbors massey fergusson later...

it took me a literal month and enough alcohol to float a battleship to get over that little setback.

Ah, all you needed was a mud motor on the boat and you could have driven the boat out of the back yard first!

Man, that would really stink up a day for a guy...still, funny!

definately stunk up that day!

im the army reserves and that was the weekend before i had to attend a 2 week school down on the coast. i left the boat at my father-in-laws house. i couldnt even stand to pull it home. lucky for me...my father-in-law couldnt stand for it to set in his yard covered in mud. when i returned home...he had cleaned it up!

gotta love the inlaws!!!

LOL I was gonna say it almost looked like there was enough water out there to just drop down the outboard and use it to push everything out .

...youd think i would have seen that before i drove in the mess. i know i was the one driving but i still blame my wife...lol.

LOL I blame SWMBO all the time when I goof somethin up and she was even remotely close to involved .

That's nasty...you've got a good FIL. Next time, hang up and drive or tell your wife she gets to pay for the tow and fill in the ruts by hand...wouldn't want my yard left that way.

he didnt really care...he laughed about it...and laughed. now for my mother-in-law...HA! she wasnt too pleased...lol.

after the water finally drained from those ruts, i filled it all in and leveled it with sand. cant even tell i was there now.

...i still find mud under my truck when i wash it though.

I was mudding the other day in my boat. Got alot of rain and went to move it,, and forgot 4WD helps in mud. the bow, windshield, carpet, and motor are covered.

I was too ashamed to. the ground was actually so wet my tires fell into the ground and the skidplate was touching the ground. a push of the 4wd lever and the trusty ol trooper got right out.
