hey guys!!! and girls!! LOL

my first post... wanted to say hi

also need some help.. I just got a 86 pro craft with a 110 evinrude.. heres the weird thing. at least to me..

when I was inspecting the boat, with the rabbit ears, the motor fired right up with aid of choke, turned choke off, and motor ran pretty well. nice idle..

put the boat in the water and really doesnt run all that well. wont stay running, wont idle that great. when you engage the gear forward/reverse you have to do so in a hurry before it dies, give it some gas and motor runs very well at higher speeds, than back down to idle and its rough and will eventually die again..

when I got boat home I fired up with rabbit ears again, and ocne again the thing runs really pretty well, holds idle fine!! I did make a small adjustment to the idle.. even putting it in gear in the drive way the thing runs fine!!

put it back in the lake and runs like crap again (at lower idle and slow speeds)

whats up with this?

The fact that it seems to run OK in the driveway doesn't mean a lot. The motor is not under any type of load, so all sorts of fuel delivery and no/weak spark problems won't be apparent.

You issue may be that the idle is simply set too low. The idle needs to be set while on the water.

Also, to get close, it helps to set the idle a little high (~+200) on the hose. This will help when you put it in the water. At least it will stay running while you adjust it to proper RPM in water, in gear.
