help posting pics

I am trying to post pictures in a post. Every time I try it says file size too large. I couldnt figure out how to post or paste the photo directly in the post. Can someone explain how they get the images to show up in the post. Id rather not resize and use thumbnails.

I use Photobucket, an internet hosting service. I upload my pics from my computer to photobucket, go to the pic-edit and down size it to the large size, or crop it down to the subject at hand. Make sure the image is not larger than the max dimentions posted on the info section in this site. 640x ???. Copy and paste .img code on each pic I want to show. Make sure you hit return/enter after each pic code or they will line up next to each other and not on top of one another and will not work.
That is how I do it....I don't know if it's the best or easiest way.
