I have a 1990 Merc I/O and need to repalce a RISER, figured time enough to just replace both and the manifolds too, dependiing on the retailer I see 3 types /options, Cast Iron uncoated or Cast Iron Ceramic Coated versus Aluminum Ceramic Coated, any reason to choose one type over another?
I understand Ceramic coated supposed to provide better corrosion resistance.

So many sites sell exhaust systems, but the price for all 3 appear to be not that different. For example: Full kit Aluminum Ceramic Coated plus gaskets for 565$ from ProTech.
Also any suggestions on a good place to buy from ?

Thanks

If your in salt go steel
fresh you can get away with aluminum but casts will last.
remove, sandblast, and if you still have lots of meat prime and put back on!

We run in brackish water. The boat is VERY weight sensitive when pulling skiers. The idea of saving weight that far back in the boat by replacing our 10 year old corroded cast iron manifolds with aluminum is pretty enticing. GLM's site sez that their aluminum manifolds, with anodes and exterior coating, are ok for salt water. Should I believe them?
