RPM question

to start with I'm new to boating.I have a 1992 crownline 18'6" boat with a 305 mercuiser engine and i would like to find out what the rpm's shoud be at WOT...

WOT RPM's will depend on your prop diameter & pitch.

A typical factory prop that came with that motor & outdrive package should give you a top-end RPM of about 4500, and I believe that motor redlines at about 5000 RPM's

This was actually from Sea Fever by John Masefield, but Star Trek did bring it to millions more than the author managed.

Ayuh,... 4400/ 4800rpms is the Right #s,... Closer to 4800 the Better...
