Im trying to get my boat going after 6 years of sitting. I cleaned fuel tank, put in an inline filter and all of the other filters look clean. When I start it it will idle nicely for 10-15 seconds or so then die. also when reving it up it will die somewhere between 2200-2400 rpm. I took the fuel pump off and the diaphram appears good. the stone filter in the fuel pump had a small bit of trash in it , but not a whole lot. any ideas?

I've never seen a stone filter in the fuel pump. They are supposed to be paper filters and there is a long one and a short one depending on what you have. Me tinks somebody put something in there that didn't belong. There may also be another filter at the fuel inlet into the carb, so check for that.

Then run this test described here....
