I bought "most" of a 24ft 1983 Aqua Patio Pontoon boat, by "most", i mean that the guy i bought it from had stripped it to the the pontoons and thrown away the entire interior. I've re-decked it with Marine Grade Plywood and im getting ready to put some type of inteior on it. I have two questions regarding this boat and the engine on it.

The engine is an Evinrude Model#70473M...whats the correct gas/oil mix?

Does anybody know where to find an orginal floor plan/layout for a 1983 Aqua Patio, 24ft, im having trouble figuring out how the helm was set up. The wheel and the controlls are still hooked up and functioning, but i cant tell their original/proper location.

I hope ive posted this correctly and in the right areas, if not, sorry bout that...im new and im learning. Any info on this boat and engine would be greatly appreciated.:D

I can't comment on the oil/gas ratio but I'm some of the super knowledgeable folks here will.

I would put the helm where you want it as long as the controls are within reach. And then I would research the internet and boat dealers and choose a floorplan that you like and build accordingly.

If possible, post pictures as you go.

Good Luck

The motor is a 1974 so it would be 50:1.

The console should be just behind the middle of the boat on the right side, that is the most common placement although that is the joy of building your own boat, you can put it anywhere you want.

How did you attach the deck?

The reason I ask is because the deck is a major part of the structure, it is what makes the boat so rigid, the best way to mount is to through bolt as screws will sheer off if you didn't use enough.

Next is, Where are the pics man, we gotta have pics!

Re: 83 Aqua Patio, 75hp Evinrude, Gas/Oil Mix & other questions

Hello,
Thanks for the info. As to your question. I attached the 3/4" marine grade decking by drilling 7/16" holes thru wood and thru the metal cross members, i then used a 1" paddle bit to counter sink the 1" washers and bolt heads so they would be flush with the deck....not sticking up. I ran a total of 4 (bolts, washers, lock washers and nuts) at every cross member which comes to a total of 8 per 4' X 8' sheet plus 4 at each seam (the 1" washers cover 2 sheets at the joint between 2 sheets)...hopefully that enough, i can always add 2 more to each cross member if needed??? yes...no? I've been taking pics but im not sure how to post em' in the thread yet.

Sounds like you got it, good job.

To get pics up got to Photo Bucket and get na account, you should size them all to 480x320 or they will be too big to post.

Sound like you are doing it right. I don't think you need anymore bolts.

Good luck
