Finally was able to get a decent canvas sewing machine so that i can make a new camper enclosure for our boat. Where'a good website for getting the supplies? (canvas, the heavy clear plastic, thread, zippers and snaps)

I get my stuff from:

http://www.sailrite.com/

My sewing machine is a metal Kenmore that I modified. It works great but I wish it had a walking foot.

Re: Good place for buying marine canvas, zippers and the clear plastic?

my canvas is currently 23 years old. I have all the peices for patterns. Plus i want to change it a little. When the bimini top is up i have to either sit or remove the bimini to drive the boat. I like to stand while driving. So my idea was to a section of clear plastic to the bimini so that i could stand and drive. Then use velcro to attach a peice of canvas to keep the sun out when anchored

Check it out.

???

Lime4X4,
I meant to say earlier that I buy the snap pieces from the local Ace Hardware.
All the other stuff comes from Sail-rite, fabric, thread, etc.

BTW, I learned about a year ago that my brother bought one of those walking foot machines from Sail-rite. He said it worked fine but didn't say anything else, however I'm sure he doesn't have it now as he sold everything and is moving to the south pacific. Wish I had at least been given first refusal...family.

The only thing i can't seem to find is the black vinyl that covers the edge of the bimini top. It protects the ends and so it doesn't fray.
