Volvo Penta Prop

I am currently running a VP 14.75 x 19 on my Ebbtide Extreme, I have done a little research on other props, MW Apollo, Turning Point Patriot, Turbo, I am looking for a little more speed on the top end. I notice most of the boats in this class are running 14 to 14.5 x 21..Was wondering if I go to another branded prop if it woul d make much of a difference over the VP prop???
I've viewed a few test results and noticed several props would give boost in RPM's.. Any recommendations ???

Are you sure the max rpm is 5000, the VP web site shows 5200 for 5.7gxi. The 5.0 Gxi is 5000

Not really sure, I see on the web site and in the books its 5200 rpm, but every Volvo dealer in this area has said 5000 rpm when I've asked the question. Which prop gives you the best performance???. I think i'll go with the books on this one and try to find a prop that will get me to that 5200..and then have the prop masters tweak my current prop for another 150 rpm..,

The enertia gives me the best speed with good hole shot but the high five is awesome for hole shot and grip on the water. Best so far was 56mph with the enertia and 52 with the high five.

As far as I can tell the hype from merc is true about the enertia, its 2 mph faster then a standard SS and 20-30% better hole shot, I compared it to my old standby an OMC Viper SS. The enertia was 3 mph faster and 2 sec faster to 30mph.

Thanks for the info, with the enertia prop avail in 1 pitch increments I should be able to hit that 5200 rpm on the nose..Big Red is a good looking boat..Thanks again..

I had good results with a Stilletto, a good speed prop IMO. I need to upgrade my meager 5.0 to a 5.7 so I can spin it to 5000 rpm.
