I have a Mercruiser 1986 140 HP (GM) It is the 187 CUI in line four. The problem is the numbers on the plate that tells what degree your timming is set to are worn/rusted off. The notches on the edge are mostly there but I am not sure witch way (or side) 0 degress is and how many degress each notch is. As per the plate I sould be at 6 degrees. But I am guessing that 0 degrees is to the far right (while looking at the front of the motor) then I go 3 notches to the left for 6 degress (asssuming that each notch is 2 degress).

Any help would be appreciated.
