Oil slick

So what would cause the oil slick (its light) in the water every time i put the motor down initially or stop and sit around for a while. Its a 1988 Force 85HP.

You may also have a blocked fuel recirculation system. There is a line going from your intake manifold to the block, under the lower carb. That line needs to be clear. The fitting under the carb has a small orifice that gets clogged easily. You need to clean it out so that the fuel that spits from the carbs is sucked back into the crankcase.

I had a slight leak on one of the fittings on my tilt/trim pump assy. when ever I lowered my motor. Had to loosen it up slightly and re-tighten to fix. Can't remember exactly which one it was. There are 4 lines with fittings on the tilt/trim pump.
