I have had this motor for a long time and it works great when the foot control isn't failing it seems every two years or so it goes bad. the weird thing is realistically I only use it a few times a year. My question is does anyone know of any way to rewire the plug that will bypass the foot control? I believe there are 5 prongs on the plug I would assume if I looped one or two of them I would get full power. I would need to wire a dial of some type inline to allow for speed control but it seems doable

The speed control portion of your foot control is a variable resistor, its range of resistance is not zero to infinity so you would have to know the range of resistence your control board requires to work reliably. It is not a simple matter of wiring in a variable knob control, for example mine requires 500ohms as a minimum for the highest speed and 1.5 megaohms for low.
