150 hp evinrude spitfire

the last 3 times i have taken my boat the motor runs fine for about a hour, then each time the motor winds down to a idle speed. each time it will shut off , i usally can restart but if i give it forward gas it shuts off over and over. i have been told by 2 that it could either be thermostat or fuel pump , any imput would help.

year model #????? what have you checked? would not be fuel pump, it was pumping for an hour. new motor to you, when last serviced, impeller change? history on the motor.
