Went boating yesterday.

Sorry if this is the wrong place but I went boating yesterday afternoon into the evening. It was just me and the girlfriend and we had a great time, there was not alot of people out and the weather was good. So about 10 minutes after the sun goes over the mountians behind the lake I get pulled over for being on the lake past dark, now it is still very light out but the sun is not blinding us anymore. The sheriff gives me a warning and tells me to head straight back to the dock so I did. As I pull up there is anothere guy pulling up at the same time and I guess he got a ticket for being over loaded and for being out past dark.(He had 12 people on an 8 person boat) I have been letting the girlfriend back the trailer into the water at slow times for practice. After about 5 minutes I see her still at the top of the ramp so I walk up there to see whats wrong and she is just sitting there crying, I ask her whats wrong and she says the guy from the other boat was yelling and cussing at her because she was not backing up fast enough. Now he is on one side of the dock and we are on the other and nobody else around but he wanted to turn around where she was. By this time he has passed her and is in the water. I jump in the truck and back it down the ramp and she is begging me the whole time to not say anything to him as it would probably not end up well for one of us. I hook up my boat and as I am about to pull out he pulls up the ramp with his outdrive down draggin his prop about 50 feet. After that I figured that was justice enough and just let it go but it is still bothering her today and says she will not even try to launch or recover the boat again.

But remember it wasn?t her he was really mad at, it was the cop for giving him the ticket. It was just your girlfriend he took it out on!

Sorry to hear about the jerk. I suppose next on the list is teaching the girl to stand up for herself or honk the horn to get your attention. Some people will always be jerks. Just tell her to try and not let that particular jerk get to her.

Serves him right Aaah ha haa ha-- "JERK"!! I would have laughed at him plus flipped him off as I was passing him by!! And jerk probably would not have been the actual "words" I would have used!! GF might need a little shove back into it, she'll be OK.

You bet I laughed and pointed. He knew I was mad I gave that stare of death and told some guy that was with him that if I ever saw him talk to a woman like that again it would be the last time.(She never said I couldn't say something to his friend). After we pulled out I pulled right next to him at the getting your boat ready spot for about 5 minutes and he wouldn't look at me or say a word. Oh yeah and I am not the smallest guy at 6'3" 250 lbs. But I certianly do not want to fight.

Lake Elsinore. I am trying not to go there much anymore because the quality kinda sucks and the people are not much better but it is only about 15 minutes from home.

I don't know, they say it is because they can't afford to patrol at night. Lake Elsinore is kinda a small over used and not taken care of lake. This was the first time in 4 years I have had an issue.

No it was aluminuminuminum, his boat was probably a mid 90's something and was also not taken care of. He didn't even have any rope to tie up with, I actually pulled him to the dock and held his boat for hime until his passengers could get out and take over.

Holy crap! He was a jerk to your girl after you helped him?! They sure do raise 'em sleazy nowadays. Prob went home and beat up his wife for his misfortune. Guys like that, nothing is ever their fault.

This guy was far older than me, I am 30 and my girlfriend is 22 and this guy had to be at least 50+, he had 4 adults on the boat and the rest were kids, he sure was setting an example for them.

Heh, I am always forgetting to raise the outdrive....fortunately my trailer is 'just' high enough that I don't drag it up the ramp. Otherwise, what a tool, probably already had kids too..spreading that wonderful genetic material around.
