Where is the vent on this single line tank?

The tank is not venting. It will build up a vacuum inside until the engine starves of fuel and shuts down. I leave the cap partly cracked open but sometimes the rubber gasket still seals it and it happens. I believe the vent is supposed to be near the fuel outlet? If so where is it and how can I open it up again? thanks...

My guess is that it has the wrong cap on it. Probably should have a cap with a vent screw to open/close.

Can't tell from the pic's angle, but isn't that the vent screw in the top of the fill cap?

I was wondering about the cap as it does not look original but most of the modern tanks don't have screw vents on them anymore. So is there a vent near the fuel connector base? That's where I have heard they are but I see nothing there...

Aha... I see it now. So there must be a little hole above the disc and spring then... I'll hafta check.

I think that is an aftermarket tank. It looks like it doesn't have the fuel connector valves that are common on the OMC tanks. I'd probably look for a cap with a vent screw. Or better yet, save some money and rig a vent screw in the existing cap.
