Is it better to park (trailer in driveway) a boat level, or have the back-end slightly lower than the front (to help eliminate water puddles on the canvas)?

Note: yes, I tried the search. It kept coming back with "The search term you specified (a) is under the minimum word length (2) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer. If this term contains a wildcard, please make this term more specific. " - I used more than two words.

Bow high will not really help with pooling all that much. I made a couple pvc poles to place under my cover to keep water from pooling. I always park mine bow high, plug out so any water that does get in has a chance of getting out.

Re: parking a boat

I do have a Pole up front (bowrider) and in the back (both came with the canvas), but it seems to pool in the back left near the seat. I may have to rig up another pool.

I don't have any plug on this particular model. Just a pump. And it doesn't seem natural! :)

I'm no expert, but I've been around boats many years. I've never seen a recreational boat without a drain through the transom. Maybe someone else knows more, but I would suggest a closer look at the lowest point on the transom in front of the outdrive.

No plug?
Find that hard to believe...check again...real good this time.

If what you say is true about no plug...then what happens if the pump fails?

(I had a huge brain fart above - I was up for 19 hrs straight on a computer issue at work. I DO have a plug, its right under the I/O, near the powertrim cables. I even use it! I really, REALLY don't know what I was thinking. )

Wheww Thats good!! I need to make a Pvc frame for under my tarp too, right now I am using a pipe with a rag on the end so i don't punch a hole through the tarp, had same issue as you did and posted a thread about it and got alot of great input. You can make a frame to go under your cover. pic with the pipe:)

Re: parking a boat

Yes, it is nice to have a plug! lol! I almost re-registered under a new name (I was so embarrassed).

The canvas cover that came with the boat has two poles (smaller one for the front in the bow) and back (taller) - both are reinforced around where the pole sticks into the canvas. But canvas doesn't last forever, and it seems to be sagging a bit in the rear corner. Maybe I should call the local canvas shop....(thinking to myself)

Do you by chance have a link to the other link about correctly adding more pipes?

Re: parking a boat

Most of us have had a few of those but back to original question, bow up plug out and try to put supports under canvas to keep puddles to a minimum. If a canvas blows off or rips and the bow is down or plug is still in during a
really bad storm you could have a world of problems. Water weighs a little over 8 lbs a gallon and you can do the math on how much your boat would hold before the trailer collapsed.

Feel for you and computer related sticky problems. (keeps me awake sometimes too)

Re: parking a boat

brain farts are ok, we all get them, on a daily basis for some of us (myself included)

Its when your brain gets a bad case of diarrhea that you have a real problem.
