Re: engine height

I have a 12' modified v that does the same thing, though it's not as fast as yours. It's essentially a deep v-front and and flat the rest of the way. It seems that they are very finicky about weight. It's a fine line between plowing and porposing. If I'm by myself I usually throw a 5 gal jug of water in the front of the boat and it solves it. Kind of a pain but it is the most stable 12' fishing platform I've ever used.

Sweet looking boat. Looks to be the same hull design as my little one. Are those tabs built into the hull? I'm willing to bet that it's weight distribution thats your problem. Like I said by myself the problem is easily solved, but get others in the boat moving around and I'm back to square one. To much to deal with so I just slow down a bit. Even with that problem I love the hull design. I can move around, lean over the edge whatever and it's solid in the water. I'm in Payette by the way.

Re: engine height

I would get a battery or your gas up in the bow to add some weight.

I had a small tinny and it took awhile to figure out, just keep shifting weight till you get it.

Re: engine height

the rear extensions are part of the boat. the boat was a runabout with bench seats, removed front &middle seats, moved steering wheel over so tele-flex system would work, put in floor & seats. hung a 93 40 hp. johnson. hadgas tank inback port side corner, bat. back starboard corner. boat leaned over on starboard side. put a 8 hp. 4 stroke on port side. straightened it up some. moved bat. to port side. helped some. so i guess its jus going to be a shuffling deal. dont really have a lot of room under the bow to add weight .

Sometimes you just need to add weight to offset weight. I had a pontoon that had an inboard out drive set up. The foot was too low in the water to run properly. I added 300 lbs of steel plates to the front which leveled it out better and raised the outdrive to where it needed to be. That pontoon was a heavy monster, but it rode great. Try some portable weights until you figure out where and how much weight you need. They you can come up with a permenant solution.
