Funniest Things You Have Caught While Fishing!!!!

I thought it would be cool to see what all people have caught that seems out of the ordinary....


Well me and my father in law were fishing just a lil bit ago. We were catching alot of lil perch.... and we decided to troll alil while to see if we can catch something else.. so he puts on a spinner and i put on a rooster tail.... and we start trolling and 5 mins in he says he caught something so i slow the boat down and start reeling in my pole....i get mine in and he is still reeling his in....then all of a sudden a seahawk comes down and eats his fish and hooks him self so now my father in law has caught a bird.. and he reels it in and we unhooked the bird and let him go... i got a couple of pics of it but its on the phone and have to find out how to get them on here......... that was the best catch of the day.... we are still laughing about it lol

my hand to god on this...fishing a zara spook, a 75 pound chocolate lab tried to retrieve it for me.....yup. the clamped down. could't figure out why it wouldn't let go. the owner of the pond always let the dog run free.

took me 15 minutes,a pair of pliers 3 our fathers and a hail mary to get it out. same pond , shaking hydrilla off a rubber worm, a bass jumped out of the water and hooked himself mid air on the worm...damn near peed myself when that happened. the dog, not so much.

I really don't have a funny thing Ive caught but i do have a scary thing. We were fishing the canals off the Seminole Indian reservation in Florida two years ago when i got snagged on something. When i trolled over to retrieve the snag i found i was hooked on to a baby's car seat face down. My knees darn near buckled when i saw what it was. I just knew it was going to have a child in it when we turned it over. Thank God it didn't. I had to sit and calm my nerves for about 30 minutes.

I caught a round wire grill from a Weber BBQ in the Russian river in northern California. Fought like the dickens too! LOL!

I got a knot in my stomach reading that. I bet those few seconds while you were turning it over were horrible.

I got it in the nipple last weekend. Thankfully it's still attached.

I caught my sister's arm once...

I was 10 she was 7... got her right after I went full back for the cast and caught her full force with my throw... set the hook deep...

I am not sure who screamed worse, me or her LOL

Pair of snips, cut the barb and it was out, but I'll never forget that one!

In canada this summer i caught a zebra mussel. it actually bit onto my hook.

Caught a large painted turtle while fishing with my son. Were using just a simple hook and worm.

I've cought so many unexpected things. I once caught a 55 gallon drum with my anchor. Must have been a left over for ice fishing. I also once caught an underwater power line with the anchor. Thank goodness we had charts of the area and when we saw the power line on the chart we cut the anchor free.

Not all that funny, but i caught a pelican shortly after I moved to FL. I cast out from a dock, and he flew into the line, making the lure wrap around his wing before it even hit the water. Luckily, a spectator helped me untangle him. They put up quite a fight on light tackle!

fishing off the docks in Galilea RI,,caught a sea gull mid air with a caster master,,attracted quite the crowd.
He swooped down and nailed it,,,realed him, held him while removing the hook he of course pooped all over me,,,never forget it

We were fishing in the early evening last week. My buddy's son was fishing off the back of the boat. I was right next to him when he claimed he caught a bat. My buddy was yelling at him to not joke like that. I looked into water and holy bat, batman!...it was a freaking bat off his line. When I informed him that his son was indeed telling the truth. Apparently, the bat attacked the bait. We sat there for a minute trying to figure out what to do. I simply told him to cut the line and call it a day...but then the bat must have let go of the bait. Who would have thunk?!

I just remembered that I caught my buddy's fishing hat one time.

I was in the front seat of my Bass Tracker while he was fishing from the rear seat. I made a quick cast and it just felt funny. As the lure came overhead, my buddy's hat was attached! I looked back at him real quick and he was holding his hand over his bald pate with a really surprised look on his face.

Snatched the hat right off the top of his head! LMAO!

Used to fish with my great uncle in marblehead, MA. We called his leaky wooden rowboat the titanic. He would bail while my sister and I fished. One day we caught a stingray. Thinking back, it was about the same size as the flounder we were catching, but it sure did seem like a monster at the time!
